T. Johnson Suspended for Eight Games
The NFL today suspended Chicago Bears defensive tackle Tank Johnson for eight games for violating the league's conduct policy.
Johnson was recently released from prison after serving half of a 120-day sentence for violating his probation in a gun case.
His suspension is the third significant disciplinary action taken by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell since April, when he also issued a toughened conduct policy. Goodell suspended Tennessee Titans cornerback Adam (Pacman) Jones for the entire 2007 season and Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry for eight games. Jones's appeal of his suspension is pending.
The league announced that Johnson's suspension is reviewable after six games and could be shortened if he meets certain conditions.

It seems that Tank was straightening his life out before he went to jail. Since he has been out he has been doing everything the state and the NFL has asked him to do.
Hopefully he can stick with it and get back after six games.
Tank could be the role model that the NFL needs to show all the other bad-boys in the league. Somebody who turned himself around and proved you don't have to be a thug. I hope he pulls it off.
