Bengals' Thurman Denied Reinstatement
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell denied Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Odell Thurman's request to be reinstated for the upcoming season, the Bengals announced today.
Thurman will miss a second straight season. He is eligible to apply for reinstatement after the 2007 season.
He was suspended for the first four games of last season for violating the league's substance abuse policy, then had the suspension extended for the remainder of the season after being arrested on a drunk-driving charge.
