Strahan, Giants Officials Talking

New York Giants officials spoke to holdout defensive end Michael Strahan on Monday.

Coach Tom Coughlin and General Manager Jerry Reese told reporters today at the team's Albany, N.Y., training camp that Strahan is welcome to return but the club is proceeding as if he won't.

Strahan hasn't reported to training camp and has informed the team that he's considering retirement. Free agent defensive end Simeon Rice is scheduled to undergo a physical Wednesday for the Giants.

The Giants reportedly are fining Strahan $14,000 for each day of camp that he misses.
