Browns Tackle Suspended By League for Violation of Steroid Policy

The NFL suspended Cleveland Browns offensive tackle Ryan Tucker for the first four games of the regular season for violating the league's policy on steroids and banned substances.

"I didn't intend to compromise the integrity of the NFL [or] my team," Tucker said after the Browns' morning practice, according to the Associated Press. "I want to apologize to the fans, my family. It's been a long road. I was pretty down and out last year, and in my attempt to come back I took a banned substance. I'm going to fulfill this punishment and get it behind me."

Tucker spent the final eight games of last season on the Browns' reserve-nonfootball injury list with an undisclosed mental illness.
