Chargers Sputtering on Offense

FOXBOROUGH, Mass.--Two games into their season, the San Diego Chargers are 1-1 and they're yet to get their offense in gear.

But after Sunday night's 38-14 loss here to the New England Patriots, Chargers tailback LaDainian Tomlinson attributed the struggles to playing the tough defenses of the Chicago Bears and the Patriots.

"We've played two excellent teams," Tomlinson said. "You're going to struggle a little bit at times when you do that. I didn't expect us to struggle this much. We have to go back to the drawing board and figure out what kind of team we're going to be.... Once we get rolling, we're going to be okay."

Still, Tomlinson could not completely hide his disappointment with failing to exact any revenge on the team that knocked the Chargers from last season's AFC playoffs.

"It's certainly disappointing the way the game turned out," he said. "I thought it would be a little closer. They certainly turned out to be the much better team today. We couldn't get anything going. It happens. It's one game. It's a good thing it's the second game and not later in the season."

Here's a napkin for that humble pie your eating LT.

I can't wait 'till the Chargers are 6 games into the season and Norv "Barney Fife" Turner's offense is still going nowhere. We'll see what LT has to say then.

Every team in the NFL should be required to hire Norv as Head Coach for at least a year. That way, every single team can experience the suffering this franchise endured for 7 very longs years. Now that would be real parity!
