J. Russell Travels to Bay Area to Sign New Contract With Raiders
Rookie quarterback JaMarcus Russell arrived in the Bay Area today and is expected to sign his newly completed contract in time to participate in the Oakland Raiders' practice Wednesday.
The representatives for Russell, the top overall selection in April's NFL draft, completed the deal with the Raiders late Monday.
There is speculation, meanwhile, that thumb and foot injuries suffered by starting quarterback Josh McCown during Sunday's loss to the Detroit Lions could lead the Raiders to go with Daunte Culpepper as their starter this week.
