Russell's Agents Scheduled to Meet With Raiders Friday

INDIANAPOLIS--The representatives for quarterback JaMarcus Russell, the still-unsigned top overall selection in the NFL draft in April, are scheduled to meet Friday with Oakland Raiders officials.

There have been hints of progress in the negotiations, with the two sides apparently about $4 million apart on the crucial issue of how much guaranteed money will be in the contract. They'll try to strike a compromise and complete a deal Friday. If there is an agreement, Russell's contract probably will include about $31 million in guaranteed money.
