D. Green Among Hall of Fame Nominees

Former Washington Redskins cornerback Darrell Green was among 124 modern era candidates for the Pro Football Hall of Fame announced today.

Green is in his first year of Hall of Fame eligibility and is regarded by some voters as a likely first-ballot enshrinee. Wide receiver Cris Carter also was on the list of preliminary nominees in his first year of eligibility.

The list of nominees is to be trimmed to 25 semifinalists next month, and then to 15 modern era finalists before the Super Bowl. The media members who serve as Hall of Fame selectors are scheduled to meet on Feb. 2 in Phoenix, the day before the Super Bowl, to choose four to seven inductees from the list of 15 modern era finalists and the two nominees of the seniors committee, Emmitt Thomas and Marshall Goldberg.

Hey Mark, can you pull some strings so that Art Monk and Green get in together.

HOF shows how stupid and biased they really are every year Monk is not inducted.

I don't have any clout in that area. But the voters that I've talked to all seem to think that D. Green has a very good chance to go in on his first ballot, and they seem to think the odds are improving for Monk and this could be his year. The one thing that could work against it is if there's any feeling in the room not to elect two Redskins at once. Things like that shouldn't be a factor, but sometimes they are.

Mr. Maske:

I am sick and tired that every year Monk gets 'shut-out" of the HOF. Is there something we, the fans , can do to educate those idiots who keeps saying "no" to a Monk HOF selection?

Many thanks for a wonderful job!
