Bears Lose R. Brown for Season
The Chicago Bears placed veteran guard Ruben Brown on the injured reserve list, ending his season.
Brown, a nine-time Pro Bowl selection, is to undergo surgery for a shoulder injury. Terrence Metcalf takes over as the starter.
Brown, 35, is eligible for unrestricted free agency in the spring and perhaps has played his final game with the Bears, with Metcalf likely to remain the starter next season.
