Browns Keeping L. Bentley on Shelf
The Cleveland Browns announced that they're keeping center LeCharles Bentley on the physically unable to perform list all season.
Bentley has undergone a series of knee operations since being hurt on the first day of training camp in the summer of 2006.
"As we've said all along, we want to give LeCharles the best opportunity for a successful return," Browns General Manager Phil Savage said in a written statement. "It is our belief that allowing him to continue his rehabilitation in preparation for 2008 training camp is the best way to do that. LeCharles has made significant progress since July and we remain hopeful that he will be able to return to the field as a Cleveland Brown."
