Judge Accepts Jones's Plea Deal

A judge in Las Vegas accepted the terms of the plea agreement of suspended Tennessee Titans cornerback Adam (Pacman) Jones for his involvement in a dispute that led to a February shooting at a strip club.

Jones did not appear in court today but is scheduled to appear to officially enter his plea on Dec. 5.

Jones agreed to plead no contest to conspiracy to commit disorderly conduct, a gross misdemeanor, in exchange for his testimony about the Feb. 19 shooting that left three people wounded. Jones is to receive one year of probation and will not have to serve jail time. Before the plea deal, he had been facing as much as 12 years in prison on two felony coercion charges.

Prosecutors hope that Jones's testimony will help to identify the gunman. The shooting occurred outside the club after Jones and his associates were involved in an alleged fracas inside the club.

The cornerback is serving a season-long suspension by the NFL for violating its personal conduct policy.

What do you mean they HOPE his testimony will help identify the gunman. They should have demanded it. Since they didn't he won't. What a crock, and a man is paralyzed as a result of his stupidness.
