Panthers Getting Healthy at Quarterback But S. Smith Hurting
The Carolina Panthers finally are getting healthier at quarterback. Both David Carr and Vinny Testaverde have been practicing this week. That's been a rare occurrence in recent weeks, with Carr plagued by a back injury and a concussion and Testaverde hindered by a heel injury.
But the Panthers still have injury concerns about a key player. Wide receiver Steve Smith sat out Wednesday's and Thursday's practice because of an ailing shin. It's not clear whether he'll play this weekend, and Coach John Fox has not indicated whether Testaverde or Carr will be the starter.
