Sapp Retirement Comes With Relatively Little Fanfare
Warren Sapp usually wasn't one to shun publicity, but his decision to retire came relatively quietly Thursday.
The defensive tackle and former NFL defensive player of the year told the Oakland Raiders of his decision, but there was no news conference or grand announcement.
Sapp, 35, walks away from the sport after 13 NFL seasons, seven Pro Bowl selections and a Super Bowl title with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Many in the sport believe that he will be elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
