Tomlinson Says He Did Further Damage to Knee in AFC Title Game

PHOENIX--San Diego Chargers tailback LaDainian Tomlinson reportedly said he did additional damage to his left knee during his brief appearance in the AFC title game.

Tomlinson came into the game with a sprained medial collateral ligament and lasted only one series and part of another during the Chargers' loss to the New England Patriots. But he told the San Diego Union-Tribune here Wednesday that he hurt his MCL further and the injury now will require six more weeks to heal, instead of the original prognosis of four weeks.

He still is not expected to undergo surgery, he told the newspaper.

Tomlinson withdrew from the Pro Bowl and was replaced on the AFC squad by Baltimore's Willis McGahee.

Still doesn't explain why he pouted on the sidelines the entire game rather than cheer on and help his teammates. Yeah, LDT sure is a classy guy alright.
