A. Samuel, Eagles Nearly Have A Deal

One of the most coveted free agents is all but off the market.

Cornerback Asante Samuel and the Philadelphia Eagles are close to an agreement on a five-year contract worth slightly more than $47 million, an NFL source said.

The two sides are attempting to apply the finishing touches to the deal and Samuel is undergoing a physical. It is expected that the agreement will be completed and announced later this afternoon.
