Bengals Use Franchise Tag on S. Andrews

The Cincinnati Bengals placed their franchise player tag on offensive lineman Stacy Andrews even though he's only made 17 NFL starts.

Andrews filled in for injured veteran right tackle Willie Anderson this past season and could see playing time at guard next season.

Andrews would receive a salary of $7.455 million next season if he remains the Bengals' franchise player. The move means that Bengals defensive end Justin Smith remains eligible for unrestricted free agency without the threat of the franchise tag being placed on him.
