I. Bruce Rejoins Martz With Niners

Wide receiver Isaac Bruce, cut by the St. Louis Rams, agreed to a two-year, $6 million deal with the San Francisco 49ers.

He rejoins former Rams coach Mike Martz, now the offensive coordinator in San Francisco.

In other late developments:

The proposed trade of defensive tackle Shaun Rogers from the Detroit Lions to the Cincinnati Bengals for third- and fifth-round draft picks apparently has fallen through. The Lions reportedly now plan to trade Rogers to the Cleveland Browns for a third-round choice and cornerback Leigh Bodden.

Free agent quarterback Billy Volek re-signed with the San Diego Chargers for $9 million over three years.

Free agent defensive end Chris Clemons, formerly of Oakland, reached a tentative contract agreement with the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Denver Broncos released wide receiver Javon Walker and linebacker Ian Gold.
