Panthers Release D. Morgan, M. Wahle

The Carolina Panthers released linebacker Dan Morgan and guard Mike Wahle.

Morgan missed most of the last two seasons because of a concussion and an Achilles' tendon injury. The former first-round draft choice is the third-leading tackler in franchise history.

Wahle played three seasons for the Panthers after being signed as a free agent from the Green Bay Packers.

"These were tough decisions because Dan and Mike have been valuable members of our team and have done everything we have asked of them over the years," Panthers Coach John Fox said in a written statement released by the team. "They are both very dedicated to the game of football and earned the respect of everyone who worked with them."
