Giants Make First Addition

After doing nothing but losing free agents on defense, the New York Giants finally have added one.

The Super Bowl champions completed a deal today with safety Sammy Knight, most recently of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

He could replace Gibril Wilson, who left the Giants to sign with the Oakland Raiders. The Giants also had lost linebackers Kawika Mitchell (to the Buffalo Bills) and Reggie Torbor (to the Miami Dolphins) in free agency.

Knight has played for the New Orleans Saints, Dolphins, Kansas City Chiefs and Jaguars in his 11-year NFL career.

Giants found a fill in for a year until the draft or a younger free agent becomes available.
