No Resolution Yet to S. Alexander's Status in Seattle

Seattle Seahawks officials met with tailback Shaun Alexander but told reporters Tuesday that the former league MVP's status with the team had not been resolved.

It has been widely speculated after the Seahawks signed free agent tailbacks Julius Jones and T.J. Duckett that Alexander, who shared playing time this past season with Maurice Morris, will be released. But the Seahawks apparently are not ready to make any announcements.

One potential complicating factor is that Alexander underwent postseason wrist surgery and, under NFL rules, a team must reach a settlement to release a player who is injured.
