Parcells, J. Taylor Reportedly Having Trouble Co-Existing in Miami
The Miami Dolphins didn't trade defensive end Jason Taylor during draft weekend, and General Manager Jeff Ireland told reporters he hopes the organization's relationship with the former NFL defensive player of the year is good.
But there are indications otherwise.
Taylor has been missing the Dolphins' offseason conditioning workouts and has been appearing on the television dance competition "Dancing with the Stars." New Dolphins front office chief Bill Parcells reportedly isn't pleased about Taylor's absence from the team's Davie, Fla., training facility. According to a story in the Miami Herald, when Taylor made a recent visit to the Dolphins' headquarters and visited Parcells while Parcells was watching game tapes, Parcells ignored Taylor and went back to watching tapes without saying a word. The incident left Taylor "incensed," the Herald reported.
Parcells certainly didn't inherit a team with an abundance of good players, agreeing to take over the football operations of a franchise that went 1-15 last season. Taylor remains a very good player. A trade of Taylor to a contending club might be the best thing for everyone involved. The Dolphins could get young players or draft picks to help their rebuilding program, and Taylor could play the late stages of his career with a team that has an immediate chance to contend for championships.
But the Dolphins apparently haven't been offered what they want for Taylor in a trade, so the two sides might be stuck with one another. And, increasingly, it appears that could turn out to be very interesting indeed.

Taylor was one of the only Miami players bustin his a__ last year. He's played over a decade and is in his mid 30's, so what if he doesn't want to participate in "voluntary" workouts. The Fat Tuna is just acting real immature in totally ignoring Taylor like that. I guess that's what happens when you have had the Media and people in the NFL kissing your behind for years. Hopefully Taylor gets traded to a playoff team and not have to continue dealing with Parcells.

I agree, taylor has been a model of consistency. he plays hard and never takes a play off. If there's ever been anyone who has ever played any harder for the miami dolphins than jason taylor, I,d like to see them. On the other hand, I think it would be in the best interest of miami and Taylor, he should be traded. I think he deserves to play the last few years with a contender, and miami needs the picks.

I BELIEVE THE DOLPHINS NEED TO TRADE JASON TAYLOR HE HAS PUT IN HARD WORK FOR THE DOLPHINS MANY YEARS AND DESERVES THE RIGHT TO PLAY FOR A COTENDER. ALSO I PERSONLY THINK THE FAT TUNA THINKS HE CAN STILL BULLY THE GUYS AROUND THOSE DAYS ARE LONG GONE!

Jason and you Tuna haters: get over it!
Parcell's was working and he didn't stop working to kiss your a** when you stopped by?!
Grow up!

Try and go up to the VP of your company during working hours and see what happens.
The fact that Bill Parcells is trying to re build a team from the ground up and is doing it without the input of the team leader is very disturbing.
The captain of the team should be in constant communication with the Leaders of the Organization and not prancing around in a sequenced leotard on national television.
This once proud franchise doesn't need that kind of publicity and Parcells knows that. This franchise has suffered enough already and Big Changes are coming. With or without twinkle Toes (Jason Taylor).

I am awake... he got the qb at the expense of defending his side of the field on the run. He was playing for stats. Folks ran all over him ALL YEAR.

Taylor has always worked hard. If anything, this dancing thing might improve on his already superior agility. He has played for this team for a long time and knows his job. Voluntary workouts or not, you know he will come to play on game day.

one thing i like about parcells (and I am a Redskin fan) is he is a football coach, plain and simple. that's what he is about and that what he wants you to be, a football player. nothing more or nothing less. Play football and produce, the I wanna be a movie/dancing star stuff isn't part of his job description. you do your thing on your time, when you come to him it's about football. that's the state of the Dolphins, get your mind right to play football, plain and simple.

Parcells is a narcissistic person who thinks the world revolves around him and he did show a lack of class by not acknowledging Taylor's presence. Taylor had every right to be pissed. But for most of us who work regular jobs, bosses change and even though you may not like it, you have to adjust otherwise you will be out on your ass. If Taylor is really a team player and wants to be in Miami, then he will do what is right. If not, then he should get out.

It's been a long time waiting for us Fins fans. Communication goes both ways. Parcells & staff don't hire dancers anymore, they hire football players 150% devoted to football.
It's about time the Dolphins had a management staff serious to play football again.
You really can't blame Jason Taylor for not being as serious, he hasn't been used to that in Miami. It will be a hard adjustment for him. The cats not away anymore.
I suppose Jason Taylor should get a big pat on the back for doing the job he's been paid $$millions to do all these years, but that doesn't mean that he's "entitled" now or gets a pass.
The Dolphins are trying to rebuild, Taylor could step up and put his 150% and be a team leader. It's awfully hard to lead your team mates from the dance floor.

Jason should only be traded if "HE" wants it, F--- Parcell's, he is a hell of a coach, but don't turn your back on a guy that's put up with the bulls--- Wayne has allowed to go on for years, the last 3 coaching staffs F---ed this team up and Jason has always stayed true to the players.

Very few people touched on it...it shouldn't matter what Parcells says or doesn't say to the individual football player...HE'S NOT THE COACH!!!! It's what Tony has to say, and if he says he supports Jason, that's fine for me. Now, if it had been Tony who had dissed Jason (much like Culpepper and Cameron last year) then yes, these articles would have weight...but for now, they mean nothing.
Parcells has a job to do, and that is run the organization, not coach it. Jason has a job to do, and that is to be the best DE in the NFL (which he has done).
All will be fine within the organization when their wins eclipse last years total.

well see what happens with the tuna in town......im a little jaded because remember when jimmie came to town? remember when wanstadt came to town remember when saban came to town?
remember when danny got kicked out? remember when we dont have a qb anymore? this could just end up being another disappointing chapter in the history of the dolphins franchise.
fyi, (in my best chris crocker voice) leave jason alone..hes a good player.....he just wants to dance in the off season....he cant help it if hes a good dancer and has stayed on the show for so long, its interferring with pre season warm ups.......i hope that when the season starts hes still a dolphin....and he sacks your favorite teams qb 10 times in a game.

Jason Taylor has paid his dues to the team. The NFL is not like an office job, it is entertainment. Any of you feel entertained staring at a computer screen in a cubicle all day? Thus, I don't think the office job analogy works here, unless the job is to replace Tarry Tate "Office Linebacker."
I say he deserves to be elsewhere, but then again what do I know, I am posting on a message board rather than working in my cubicle.

Jason Taylor should be busting his butt with his teammates not spending time in Hollywood. He will have plenty of time for that when he leaves the game.
All you Taylor sympatizers need to open your eyes. He gets paid millions to be a Miami Dolphin. Winning is everything to great players. Jason Taylor needs to focus on making the Dolphins a better team, not life after football. I've lost a lot of respect for Taylor these last few months.

For all you ASS___'s who have never played the game and don't know what it takes to be a winner shut the hell up. JT has been puttin'in work for 11 years, just take a look at his stat's. JT doesnt play for stat's but you accumulate them when you work hard and bust your ass on Sundays. You shallow-minded fools can't understand that though because you're just hatin on him. He plays to win every Sunday and if not for the poor choices and draft picks over the years maybe he would have a TEAM in Miami that would be a contender. Don't blame JT for standing out amongst his teamates. Be honest with yourself and your comments and quit HATIN'.

Taylor is the poster child for all that has gone wrong in Miami. He plays for stats and not his team. IN his effort to get sacks he is trapped out of running plays is out of position. It was like a cancer on the team... years of bad or indifferent coaching led to it; it is not his fault. Tuna needs to clear house and build tough guys on his offense and defense. Taylor is soft and it is only a matter of time that Tuna calls him Phyllis. Trouble his... everyone else has seen his tapes and understands that at this point he is no longer worth a high draft pick. I hope, for his sake that there is money in his dancing career because, the Dolphins will win again and soon and it will be without most of the selfish players that were on the team last year.
