Shockey Reportedly Would Welcome Trade to Saints
New York Giants tight end Jeremy Shockey reportedly has told friends that he would welcome a trade to the New Orleans Saints.
The New York Daily News reported today that Shockey isn't lobbying the Giants to trade him but he wouldn't be upset to be dealt.
The Saints reportedly remain interested in trying to trade for Shockey but the two teams haven't been able to agree on what the compensation would be.
Rookie Kevin Boss replaced the injured Shockey at tight end during the Giants' Super Bowl run and some league observers are convinced that quarterback Eli Manning benefited from not having Shockey in the lineup--and, thus, not having to worry about how many passes he was directing his tight end's way.

The Giants /Reese would be stupid to make a mistake by getting rid of Shockey. The Saints are getting just like the Cowboys trying to take all the good players they can get their grubby hands on. Jeremy Shockey shouldn't even have that Idea in his head. He will regret it for his whole life.

I would have no problem seeing Shockey leave the NFC East.

This is the best news as a Giants fan. We don't need him, he makes a ton of cash, and if we could get a decent pick for him I would ditch him in a minute. He can't block, he pouts, and drops a lot of balls. Throw in a few stupid penalties and he is really detrimental to the team.

I would be disappointed to see Shockey traded. Just think of how much fun it is to watch him abuse Roy Williams twice a year. He still plays with great passion, but seems to have lost focus. Ultimately, with his history of injuries, I would deal him for a mid second round pick or better. Otherwise, keep him in New York and make teams game plan around him.

All you idiots that say shockey is overrated name me one more TE that the Giants can get thats better than him. The gmen would make a huge mistake by trading him, Shockey was not a problem for the gmen hes a scapegoat eli had to play better, which he did, thats why they won.

Get rid of him. Almost EVERY interception Eli threw was an attempted pass to Shockey. Look at the highlights of this year and Eli's interceptions if you don't believe me. The game against the Vikings... 2 of those INT's were passes to shockey that were forced. Shockey gets in Eli's face and demands the ball. Screw him.. he's hurt all the time, drops balls, gets too many penaltys and talks crap about the coaching staff when the team loses. I'll take Kevin Boss any day of the week and twice on sunday. Draft another TE in the 4th round... Giants won the SB WITHOUT shockey, they can do it again...

although i am a huge jeremy shockey fan, i do think that it is in the giants best interest to trade him for two quality players or a decent pick. he is just too big of a personality/hassle for a team that strives/suceeded because of an invincible team unity.

Shockey will never accept a diminished role on the Giants. You've already got Burress as your playmaker and Toomer and Smith as your possession receivers. If Saints or anyone else are willing to part with players or picks that will plug some holes,I say bye bye Jeremy.I'm sure the Giants can manage perfectly well without him.

After all the criticism of the Redskins in 2000 and thereafter, anyone think the Saints are now trying to buy a championship with a show of offseason largesse?

Why would the Giants trade Shokey. Now they can run a 2 tight end offense, or not be worried about who is gonna come in if one of them (Shockey or Boss) gets hurt.
They have the luxury of having two good tight ends, something no team in the league can claim.

Trade Shockey now,he is not a team player its all about him. Please give him to the Saints I'll take a high second round pick
any time to get rid of this jerk.

I would be glad to see shockey go, sure he can get open but he can't catch. He seriously handicaps the team. If the Giants are smart they would use his value to their advantage and get 2 good defensive players for him.

You idiots! G-man is right! Eli had to play better! Just think if the Fag would have played better all season. They might have went undefeated! Kevin Boss doesen't even compare to Shockey! YOu can't blame Shockey for Eli playing bad. If he can't play with some one complaining he don't need to be playing at all.

Shockey is a team player. All he wants to do is win. It was obvious why the Giants were not such a good team until Eli started playing better! It wasn't shockey throwing all of those interceptions which was costing them all of their losses. When he wasn't throwing picks what happened?

I wish Shockey would get traded. He needs to be in an offense where he is used like he should be. Who are giants fans going to blame next season when it doesen't go so well and S H E L I is back to his old ways and Kevin Boss is just you average tight end like he was this season. All Kevin Boss did this season is catch a few passes in games they won.

Shock's a dumbass and doesn't understand total player concept...even so, I'd gamble on his ignorant ass for a couple of seasons; peyton might have some historical mental mojo on the moron that can harness the talent....high 2nd round pick sounds good.

Shockey is overrated. The Giants won the SB without him. He is a cancer and they need to perform a Shockendectomy.
