Bengals In Pursuit of S. Alexander

The Cincinnati Bengals are interested in tailback Shaun Alexander, the former league most valuable player recently released by the Seattle Seahawks.

Alexander is scheduled to visit Cincinnati on Monday. His agent, Jim Steiner, told the Bengals' website that his dealings the club regarding Alexander are "very preliminary" at this point.

"Shaun wants to get an idea how the Bengals would use him and I'm sure the Bengals would like to talk to him," Steiner told the team's website. "But there is interest on both sides."

The Seahawks released Alexander after signing tailbacks Julius Jones and T.J. Duckett in free agency.

Isn't that a downgrade from Rudi Johnson?

Were I his agent, we'd have visited the Redskins, driven up the price and then signed with Tampa. What is Steiner doing???

Alexander is from just acroos the river from downtown Cincy, in Florence, KY. He'd be going home, probably makes sense for him.
