Cowboys Reportedly Could Use Pacman Jones at Receiver
Cornerback Adam (Pacman) Jones hasn't even been cleared to participate in offseason activities with the Dallas Cowboys, and it could be months before a decision is made about whether he'll be reinstated to play in regular season games.
But Cowboys owner Jerry Jones apparently is thinking ahead.
The Ft. Worth Star-Telegram reported that Jerry Jones is leaving open the possibility of Adam Jones getting some playing time next season at wide receiver if he's reinstated by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. The Cowboys, with Terry Glenn coming off an injury-plagued season, have a need for a receiver to help divert defensive attention from top wideout Terrell Owens.
Adam Jones has been suspended for more than a year under the league's personal conduct policy but nevertheless was obtained by the Cowboys in a trade with the Tennessee Titans. Goodell said Tuesday in Atlanta that he would meet soon with the cornerback to determine if Jones will be allowed to join the Cowboys' offseason workouts. Goodell has said he would consider Jones's possible reinstatement before training camp.
