J. Taylor Giving No Hints About Plans for Football Future
The staredown between defensive end Jason Taylor and the Miami Dolphins is in full effect.
Taylor avoided discussing the specifics about his football future when he spoke to reporters after competing in a golf pro-am Wednesday in Iowa.
"I'm under contract with the Dolphins," he said, according to the Associated Press. "So again, I'm looking forward to playing some golf. Football doesn't start until July and training camp, so I'll be all right. I've been in L.A. and so far removed from it. Like I said, I'll deal with that when I get there."
So, in other words, he might report to training camp.
Or he might not.
Dolphins Coach Tony Sparano announced recently that Taylor would not participate in offseason activities with the team or training camp. The Dolphins reportedly have listened to trade offers for the former NFL defensive player of the year but have not received what they deem an acceptable offer.
Taylor and new Dolphins front office chief Bill Parcells have been at odds, apparently over Taylor's decision to skip offseason workouts with the club to participate in the "Dancing with the Stars" television show.
