Others Around the League Are Convinced that Dolphins Eventually Will Trade J. Taylor
People around the league continue to guess that the Miami Dolphins will trade defensive end Jason Taylor at some point.
Dolphins front office chief Bill Parcells said earlier in the offseason that Taylor would play for Miami next season if he plays at all in the NFL.
But the chasm between Taylor and the Dolphins continues to grow. On Wednesday, Coach Tony Sparano announced that Taylor would not be participating in any offseason activities with the team, including training camp.
Previously, it was reported that Parcells, apparently unhappy about Taylor's absence from offseason workouts to participate in the "Dancing with the Stars" television program, refused to speak to Taylor when Taylor made a visit to the club's training facility. The Dolphins reportedly conducted trade talks with other teams as recently as NFL draft weekend but didn't complete a deal for the former NFL defensive player of the year.
Still, other NFL executives can't believe that Taylor won't be playing for another team next season. They reason that the Dolphins won't allow Taylor to simply retire and get nothing in return for a player with value, as Parcells tries to rebuild a franchise coming off a 1-15 season.
"I don't think the player wants to retire," said an executive from another team, speaking on the condition of anonymity because Taylor is under contract to the Dolphins and talking about him publicly could violate league tampering rules. "The best thing for [Taylor] is to play somewhere else, and the best thing for the Dolphins is to get something for him."

He could certainly help the Redskins. Sparano covet stud tight ends, and could use a tandem with Fasano. Trade Fred Davis for Taylor, straight up.
