Urlacher Reportedly Will Attend Bears' Minicamp Despite Contract Dispute
Linebacker Brian Urlacher plans to attend the Chicago Bears' three-day minicamp that begins today, according to reports by Chicago-area media outlets.
Urlacher has been embroiled in a contract dispute with the team and had skipped the club's previous offseason activities. But this is a mandatory minicamp and Urlacher could have been fined if he'd skipped it.
His nine-year, $57 million contract runs through the 2011 season.
Fellow Bears linebacker Lance Briggs had been so certain that Urlacher would skip this minicamp that he'd been planning to wear Urlacher's jersey No. 54 as a show of support.
