A. Bradshaw Serving Jail Sentence For Probation Violation

New York Giants tailback Ahmad Bradshaw reportedly is serving a 30-day prison sentence in Virginia for a probation violation.

His attorney said in a written statement that the original offense occurred when Bradshaw was a juvenile, according to the Associated Press.

Bradshaw began serving the jail sentence Sunday.

He was a solid contributor to the Giants as a rookie last season after falling to the seventh round of the NFL draft, due in part to a series of legal troubles while in college.

The Giants issued a written statement that said: "This situation is not the result of any recent incident. It stems from an issue that occurred prior to Ahmad being drafted by the Giants. Beyond that, we have no further comment."
