Browns Grant Bentley's Request to be Released

The Cleveland Browns released LeCharles Bentley at the center's request.

Bentley missed the last two seasons after signing with the Browns. He suffered a knee injury and then underwent a series of operations and was plagued by a staph infection.

He passed a physical this week and resumed practicing, but felt he would have a better chance to earn a roster spot and playing time elsewhere.

This guy could add some depth to our O-line. Any news of us showing some interest here?

It would make some sense for the Redskins, given that their backup center at this point is Jon Jansen. I'm guessing that Bentley wants to look for a place where he'd have a chance to compete immediately for the starting job. But he might not be able to find that anywhere at this point in the year.
