W. Smith Agrees to Contract Extension With Saints

Defensive end Will Smith agreed to a six-year contract extension with the New Orleans Saints.

The deal is worth about $70 million, including $26 million in guaranteed money, a source familiar with the negotiations said.

The former first-round draft pick has 33-1/2 sacks in four seasons with the Saints, including seven last season.

He had one season remaining on his previous contract.
