No Longterm Deal for Haynesworth, Suggs or Asomugha

The deadline for teams to sign their franchise-tagged players to longterm contracts was Tuesday. The Dallas Cowboys got safety Ken Hamlin signed to a six-year, $39 million deal that includes about $15 million in guaranteed money.

But there were no longterm deals for Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth, Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs and Oakland Raiders cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha. All will be left playing this season on one-year contracts.
