Six Flags Bugs PETA

Six Flags' "eat a roach, jump the line" promotion is not just turning stomachs, it's upsetting the sensibilities of PETA.  A spokeswoman for the animal rights organization characterized next month's bug buffet, complete with a cooked insect eating contest, as "gratuitously cruel."  Park spokesman Jim Taylor has responded by noting that the Madagascar hissing cockroaches are nutritious, high in protein and fat free.  No word whether People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals will speak out against Coney Island's annual hot dog eating contest, though by most accounts Nathan's Famous are insect free and not nutritious.

PETA ha gone over the top in its quest for political stature. They will do more for animals than for humans in need. I may be against the Bush Administration and the war in Iraq, but I will forver eat meat and if it's cold outside, will wear my leather jacket.
