The Mass Chalice

Here's a look at the chalice to be used by Pope Benedict XVI at the Nationals Park Mass on April 17.

Adorned with rubies, sapphires and glass medallions, it was used by previous popes who have visited the U.S. and had been stored at the Vatican's embassy in Washington. A story from Catholic New Service details its odyssey. It was refurbished by a Tulsa, Oklahoma, religious goods supplier, which was recommended by a customer who lives in Washington.
