Conan, the Online Barbarian
I just got finished with a meeting with Funcom and they were showing off Age of Conan, a massive multiplayer online game to be released in the fourth quarter of this year.
The game is interesting in the way they're going to release it. It's going to be played completely online. The first part is completely a single-player experience. When the player is finished with the single-player game they can choose to then take their character into the massive character online world and pay a monthly subscription fee to keep their character active.
The game itself is strongly combat based as you'd expect from a Conan title. All the characters have scars and everybody's kind of dirty in a barbarian kind of way. From the amount of people watching the demo, it's probably going to be a popular title.
