Parade of Howl-o-ween Photos

Happy Halloween, people. I have a treat for you.
First, let me introduce Wagner, our pooch. [At right]

We marched in a "Howl-o-ween" costumed dog parade in Arlington this weekend, proving that I'm totally demented about my pets. But hey, so are many people on the Internet. The top ten pet sites got well over 26 million visitors last month, according to Nielsen/NetRatings. This isn't one of them: www.beedogs.com. It calls itself "the premiere online repository for pictures of dogs in bee costumes," and that's an interesting niche. Here is a potential new submission from my camera:

There are other strange niches. Like www.catsthatlooklikehitler.com. Also, www.kittenwars.com, which pits two baby cat photos next to each other, so visitors vote on which they think is cuter. That brought out the competitive spirit in my former editor, Greg Schneider, who submitted his kitten's photos, and would monitor T-Bar's performance throughout the day.
For those with affection for rodents, there is www.ratfanclub.org, but it's short on photos. One of my enduring favorites, www.cuteoverload.com, is my happy place on the Web. It has a subsection on hedgehogs. [You have to check out the one with a flower on its head]
There's also loads of homemade content on YouTube that involve pets. Take the cat-massaging-dog video with someone's voice overlay, which was one of the most watched videos on Yahoo when the site highlighted it in July, and has become quite a hit on YouTube.

My editor, Leslie Walker, gave me a blank stare when I first I told her I was going to blog about the Howl-o-ween parade. Then, without batting an eye, she proceeds to talk about her Yorkie, Bear, for whom she was thinking about starting a blog. Apparently Bear dons a mini life jacket and loves to go swimming in it. Keep watching here for that video.
Oh, I'm sorry, were you looking for news here? Nope. I just wanted to dole out some eye candy.

C'mon, tell us more. What is the top pet site on the internet? I loved the hedgehog thing on cuteoverload.com, but now I want to hear from other people about their favorite web sites for pets.
Since the internet sock puppet site died, where's the best web site for shopping for Wagner? (And wherever did you get that ridiculous hotdog suit anyway?!?)

As has been stated before elsewhere: this is why dogs bite people.

Am I the only one who wasn't slightly amused/distrubed of a dog parading as a...hot dog? Because in some parts of the world, a hot dog isn't a Frankfurter but canine, served warm....

It was just a matter of time before Wagner became an internet sensation.
