New for Nintendo: Air traffic controllers & SAT prep

You know that trend we wrote about a couple of months ago about the proliferation of unusual game titles and "non games" like "Endless Ocean" onto the Nintendo Wii and DS? Still going on in full force, it seems.
This week, two new unlikely-seeming titles for the mobile game device have been announced. A game company called Aspyr Media has announced it is teaming up with education service company Kaplan to produce an SAT prep course that can be used on the DS. And Majesco Entertainment has announced that it is about to roll out a game, called Air Traffic Chaos, that lets payers take on the role of air traffic controller.
Hmmm. And here, in my mailbox, has just landed a copy of a Wii title called Summer Sports. Gotta say I never thought I'd encounter a video game version of croquet... and yet, here it is. I guess that'll be nice to have if I can't make it to the big annual croquet match going on in Annapolis this weekend.
Full disclosure: Kaplan Inc. is owned by the Washington Post Company.

well, games are partially about giving you the chance to do things you probably will never be able to really do. I'd like to try pushing tin video game style. Of course that's probably something I'd rent, not buy.

MicroProse released a game called "Kennedy Approach" in the 80s that simulated being an air traffic controller. One would hope that the graphics would be a little better.
