New Kilgore Ad
Not to be outdone, Jerry Kilgore has a new ad, too.
It's called "Stand/Bounce," and it features a man, literally, bouncing up and down on a trampoline, while an announcer talks about Tim Kaine:
"Tim Kaine says he won't raise the gas tax, but supported a plan that would have doubled it."
Bouncing.
"Says he'll enforce the death penalty, but called it unconstitutional"
More bouncing.
"Promises not to raise taxes, but supported the largest tax increase in Virginia history."
Flipping.
"If Tim Kaine wont tell us where he really stands, how can we trust him as governor?"
Flopping.
The end of the ad: Kilgore, sitting with his two kids, saying: "I'm Jerry Kilgore and my campaign sponsored this ad."
The ad can be seen here.

I bet it is Jerry's twin brother, Terry. You know how all those white boys look alike.
Then again, maybe it is Doug Wilder. Everytime I see his picture and listen to his words, he keeps looking whiter and whiter and sounding more and more like a Republican....and you know he is masterful when it comes to the ....FLIP-FLOP FLAP.

Can someone tell me what these "Extra State dollars" are that Jerry keep saying are where he's getting the money to pay for transportation? Why didn't we just use these magical "Extra" dollars to begin with? This is just getting absurd.

Probably from his pal, George Allen. Remember that $2 BILLION they say was provided to education.....They built a whole buncha prisons, they had guards beating kids unconscious....maybe that's what they call education, but it is not what I call education. That money has to be somewhere ....??? I know, Kilgore needs to check with his good buddy, Dick "Halliburton" Cheney. Maybe DICK KNOWS where the money is....

Im glad Im not the only one who's confused about the xtra state dollars featured in Jerry Kilgores ads. ? And if his transportation plan is anything other than what we've heard for the last decade. why doesnt he say so? Wishful thinkin on my part I guess

If Kilgore is elected, I am sure he will use the same skill snowing the people of Virginia that he is a great governor as he uses in his imaginative TV ads. I would hope by now, with the revelations of how corrupt the Bush admin is, everyone would realize that this family values pitch is an empty facade. But the pols show otherwise......

Most laughable ad.

It's sad that Kilgore continues to smear a decent man like Tim Kaine--But since he doesn't have any real plans or ideas of his own, I guess he would be pretty quiet without all his negativism. IMHO, a good gauge of how a person will conduct him or herself in office is how they conduct themselves on the campaign trail. Kaine's honesty, forthrightness, and clearly stated plans set him apart in the world of politics.

It's funny how they say Kaine promised not to raise taxes, yet during the debate he said he will not take a no-tax pledge. The fact is if we are going to fix our transportation problems we need an additional source of revenue, a fact that Kilgore is unwilling to face. As for the "largest" tax increase, it simply generated the most revenue. Most Virginians actually saw a tax break in the form of the elimination of the marriage penalty, elimination of food taxes, increasing the personal exemption, etc., which is part of why Warner's approval rating remains at 75 percent. The fact is Democrats can be trusted to raise taxes responsibly to come to commonsense solutions. As for the death penalty issue, Republicans can't seem to understand that people can have a personal opinion on an issue while faithfully executing the law independent of that opinion. All we'll see with four years of Kilgore is blind ideology, and fewer of our problems being solved.

That was actually Adolf Hitler on the trampoline. He was gonna get executed, but liberal liberal liberal Tim Kaine refused to do it. True story.

I am a Kaine voter, but the flip/flop ad is not bad. It focuses in on some of the inconsistencies that the Kaine campaign has worn on its sleeve..."I oppose the death penalty, but will enforce the law." "I oppose abortion, but will not support legislation to make abortion illegal if Roe is overturned."...so I think the ad will ge some traction. It is still running as of this post. 10/31

I hope he keeps running it. People are starting to realize that we need a Governor who has both feet firmly on the ground, a guy who knows where he wants to go and has a plan -- not some guy jumping up and down on a trampoline saying mean things about his opponent just to get our attention.
I suspect the reason Kilgore says so many false and mean things about Kaine is that Kilgore has nothing substantive to offer about himself.
Virginia needs a grown-up as Governor, not some overgrown kid given to adolescent behavior. Kaine is a "man in full," while Kilgore keeps playing hide and seek games. Come out, come out wherever you are ....

I caught this ad tonight in a rather distracted way and I genuinely thought it was a Kaine advertisement. I had to rewind my DVR to believe my eyes--The guy on the trampoline looks just like Jerry Kilgore! What kind of subliminals are they hoping to spread out of this?
