Another Terp

Following up from last week, Gwynn Park tight end Taylor Watson verbally committed to Maryland during a visit to Terrapins Coach Ralph Friedgen, Gwynn Park Coach Danny Hayes said.

Entering his third year as a starting tight end, Watson also will be used on defense this season, Hayes said.

"We might feature him at linebacker and he might play defensive end a little, move him around a bit," Hayes said.

That moving should come in handy. Maryland recruited Watson to play fullback. He also had offers from Connecticut, Akron and Towson.

"That's where he wanted to go, it's a dream come true," Hayes said. "He'll be dedicated to the program. Plus, he's hard working, a kid you don't have to monitor."
