Mayo Pulls the Trigger

O.J. Mayo, one of the nation's top-ranked high school basketball players, signed a letter-of-intent to play for Southern Cal. Why Mayo waited until the last day of the early signing period to send in his paperwork is a good question.

Mike Beasley, an All-Met in 2005 as a sophomore at Riverdale Baptist, signed with Kansas State.

It is no mystery. He was holding out for a better offer.

Why wouldn't the most sought after recruit wait until the end of the process to make a decision?
