Once-Prized Recruit in Hot Water

It's looking like it could be a trip from the penthouse to the jailhouse for one-time top prospect Melvin Alaeze. Maryland rescinded a scholarship offer to Alaeze coming out of Randallstown High and he later enrolled at Illinois, which he left after only a few games. Now, he is charged with attempted murder and other niceties in a Christmas Eve robbery.

In other football news, Episcopal QB Warner Blunt is headed for Army, where he won't play for Bobby Ross.
