Logan-El Bound for Towson

Former All-Met lineman Antonio Logan-El received a release from his scholarship at Penn State and will transfer to Division I-AA Towson.

"Some things didn't go as planned at Penn State," Logan-El said this morning. "Towson was closer to home, it's a good program."

Logan-El, whose choice of Penn State over Maryland was heavily scrutinized and criticized, declined to elaborate on his reasons for leaving Penn State. "I have nothing to look back on and say, 'I wish I didn't come here,' or anything like that," he said. "It's nothing like that at all."

Going from the Big Ten to the CAA is quite a jump for a player once regarded as a can't-miss savior. But things don't always work out the way recruits imagine. "I could have transferred to another [I-A] school, maybe in the SEC or Big East or ACC, but then I looked at going to Towson because it would be closer to home," Logan-El said. "It's a program I can have an impact on."

Logan-El will be eligible to play immediately this fall because transfers from Division I-A to I-AA schools do not have to sit out a season of competition.
