Carroll Adding Top Transfers
One team making noise in local summer basketball leagues has been Carroll, which continues to add to its impressive list of foreign players.
Rising senior Kris Joseph, a 6-5 forward from Quebec, joined the Lions last season and has already accepted a scholarship offer from Syracuse. Nigerians Emeka Okam and Temiydao Adbayo arrived at Carroll in February. Both in the neighborhood of 7 feet, Okam (a rising junior) and Adbayo (a rising senior) are being recruited by "everybody," Carroll Coach Clinton Perrow said. "Clemson wants them. Wake Forest wants them. George Mason, St. Joseph's."
The latest addition is forward Alexsandar Mitrovic, a 6-7 rising senior also from Quebec. "He's go Division I easily," Perrow said.
And to get the ball to the big men, Carroll has added standout guard Daryl Traynham, a rising sophomore who started at Wise High last year. Traynham has been at Carroll since January, Perrow said, which is interesting since Traynham played the entire season at Wise, in Upper Marlboro.
Perrow said he does not expect any more transfers. "That's it," he said. "That's enough, isn't it?"
