Recruits Get a Ride From Donovan
While this columnist wondered what it's like to be a recruit when the coach bolts town, it appears that Florida Coach Billy Donovan is going back to Gainesville. Talk about a rollercoaster ride for those involved.
When news broke last week about Donovan heading for the Magic, I made a comment to another reporter to watch the domino effect - among players and coaches. Whether it meant players or recruits leaving Florida or Virginia Commonwealth - since VCU's Anthony Grant was the apparent choice to succeed Donovan - or the coaching carousel getting back into full swing, which definitely would have happened. Now, it appears the whole thing was just a five-day whirlwind affair.
