Hokies Lose Freshman Guard

The interesting offseason continues for the Virginia Tech basketball team as freshman guard Darrion Pellum - already enrolled in fall semester classes in Blacksburg - had an SAT score that was rejected by the NCAA Clearinghouse and was ruled a nonqualifier, meaning he can never play at an ACC school. It's certainly an unusual occurrence, especially so late in the eligibility process. Pellum's former high school coach says the player now will head to a junior college.
