Maryland Chasing Thomas
As for Maryland and its recruiting efforts, Coach Ralph Friedgen and most of his staff were in attendance Saturday to see Friendly beat Forestville, 32-12. Friendly running back Lamaar Thomas, who holds three dozen scholarship offers, caught a touchdown pass, returned an interception for a touchdown and rushed for 71 yards. Forestville wide receiver Kevin Dorsey, who has committed to Maryland, caught six passes for 123 yards, returned a punt 40 yards and intercepted passes on a pair of two-point conversion attempts. Forestville defensive end De'onte Arnett, a 6-4, 240-pound junior, had two sacks.
"Maryland had seven coaches at the game," Forestville Coach Charles Harley said. "I saw Fridge in the end zone. Four of them stayed in the end zone the entire game."
