More On Terps/Jennings

Here's more on Terrence Jennings backing off his commitment to Maryland, which came as a complete "surprise" to his high school coach. There's plenty of speculation today about the real story behind this news, from whether Jennings' ability to get into Maryland played a role to whether opposing schools have simply been hammering away at Maryland when they recruited Jennings since the player announced his decision to go to Maryland over the summer. The one school in addition to Maryland that Jennings says he wants to visit is West Virginia, where Coach Bob Huggins and assistant Billy Hahn are hoping to lure the player to Morgantown.

Hahn is a strong recruiter. FREDTERP

I think the fact that MD continued to aggressively recruit Quintrell Thomas suggests that they were not 100% sure Jennings was going to end up at MD, whether that was because of academics or other things. Don't forget that the NCAA has new eligibility rules beginning with the class of 2008 and there are conflicting reports of how close (or far) Jennings is from qualifying.

This shouldn't surprise anyone. Has there ever been a top 20 recruit who commits without taking any other visits and never wavers????

I'm shocked that a player that decommitted has an interest in WVU!

That smell coming from the direction of Morgantown is from Huggins and the WVU basketball program.

Big shock. A kid who might not qualify to get into Maryland is all of the sudden interested in West Virginia. Add the "high academic standards" I'm sure Bob Huggins will bring to that program and I'm sure they will find a way to get Jennings in no matter what.

Huggins steals another power forward, not really a shock, anyone remember Michael Beasley and Charlotte?

Bob Huggins is the same lying cheater that took Beasley from Charlotte and then left everyone in the dust! Heres hoping he gets his just deserts up in the land of brotherly and motherly love.
