O'Connell Center Could Make Choice Soon

Two O'Connell basketball players have already announced their college intentions and don't be surprised if a third does before the start of practice.

Center Frank Ben-Eze, a Nigerian with one year of high school basketball under his belt, has taken official visits to Virginia Tech and Marquette as well an unofficial visit to Harvard. Those are his top choices, O'Connell Coach Joe Wootten said, with Virginia and Notre Dame still in the mix.

"I would hope" he makes a decision soon, Wootten said. "You know some kids, once they make a decision, they kind of relax. He gets a little stressed out about it."

O'Connell All-Met guard Jason Clark, a senior, has committed to Georgetown. Sophomore guard Kendall Marshall last week committed to North Carolina.

He would be a perfect fit at Marquette.

I think the odds are that Frank will follow Max Kenyi from Gonzaga and head for Harvard.

Frank made an official to Harvard the weekend of the 22nd, along with Kenyi.

Where do you think Frank Ben-Eze will decide to go for college. I am a big Marquette fan and I think he would be a great fit, but my gut feeling is that he will end up at Harvard with Kenyi...thanks.

Ben-Eze committed to Harvard on Oct. 10.
