U-Va. Lands Hoops Recruit

Virginia's basketball team yesterday picked up its first recruit for next fall. Sylven Landesburg, a 6-6 guard from Queens, N.Y. said it was hard to say no to the local school, St. John's. He also was considering Georgia Tech and had offers from Kentucky and Texas.
