Nevada Player Made It All Up

Lots of stuff to get to today. Let's start with the obvious. The Nevada high schooler who claimed he had been duped by a middleman acting as a recruiter? Made the whole thing. Just wanted to play D-1 ball, he said. Wow. You've got to wonder what comes next. My sense from talking to the Lyon County sheriff's office is that Kevin Hart will not be charged for making a false statement to police. But where does the kid go from here? I give him credit for taking my call yesterday and politely saying he didn't want to speak. Has to be a tough time for an 18-year-old. Hopefully, he can finish out the school year without much commotion - but what lies ahead?

In case anyone missed it, here's my story on this in Wednesday's paper, which has all the background.

Here's a previous story from a Reno television station that has the video of Hart's announcement.
