Maryland On Trail of Roosevelt Speedster
Eleanor Roosevelt junior Derrick Thomas holds a scholarship offer from Maryland, which is recruiting him to play cornerback, Raiders first-year coach Tom Green said. Thomas, who is 6 feet 1 and 180 pounds, plays wide receiver and cornerback for Roosevelt.
Maryland also is interested in Roosevelt's Isaiah Ross, who at 6-2 and 240 pounds played nose tackle last season but will move to defensive end or outside linebacker this fall. "He's been at Maryland a few times but they haven't pulled the trigger yet," Green said. Penn State also is recruiting Ross, while Rutgers is interested in cornerback Stephon Morris, Green said.
"They'll have multilple offers by the summer," Green said.
